BRITTANY FISHER, AGE 18, CROWNED MISS TEEN SPIRIT PLUS 2006
San Antonio, Texas – On November 20, 2005, Brittany Fisher was crowned Plus Size P.O.W.E.R.’s Miss Teen Spirit Plus 2006 during a live Pageant held at Clarion Hotel/ Tropicano hotel (Coronado Ballroom), San Antonio, Texas. Brittany is a senior at Clemens High School. Brittany states, as Miss Teen Spirit Plus, “I want to be a role model for other plus size teens. I want to show them that you can be plus size and still be beautiful, that the title of queen isn’t only for skinny girls, and that beauty comes from within, no matter what size you are. I promise to devote my reign to help and inspire other plus size women to get the confidence that most lack” Kathleen Guitron, age 16, Tiffany Guitron, age 18 and Vanessa Salgado, age 18 were also named Teen Spirit 1st, 2nd and 3rd Princesses. Prior 2005 Miss Teen Spirit Plus is 14 year old, Eboni Murrell.
Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. is a not for profit membership club that serves as a support group to inspire/motivate women and teens, sizes 14 and up. The organization’s mission statement is: “We build confidence, celebrating the curvaceous you. We teach women and teen to believe in themselves and reach their fullest potential”. The P.O.W.E.R. stands for Potential Of Women Everywhere Regardless of Size. Sisters, Linda and Pamela Smith founded the club five years ago. Linda Smith is a teacher’s assistance to special needs children and is also a motivational speaker. For over 10 years, Linda has been a make-up, hair style and fashion consultant. Pamela Smith is a former professional plus size model and social worker. She currently holds the pageant titles of Ms. Plus US All American, Ms. Texas Plus America Ambassador and Ms. Texas Pretty Plus Princess 2006.
Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. will be launching it’s adult and teen new pageant, Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. USA and Brittany Fisher will also serve as Plus Size P.O.W.E.R.’s Miss Teen Plus USA Ambassador for 2006. “To think, that when I was a little girl, I would sit up with my mother to watch the pageants on TV, dreaming that I could be one of those girls, and here I am involved in this wonderful pageant today”, says Brittany.
